ABOUT KIRSTEN

I started shooting headshots  in Los Angeles back in the 90's when many talented actors I knew were struggling to find a photographer who could capture compelling headshots  that  would get them through talent agency and casting director doors. I picked up the camera and something just instinctively clicked. (No pun intended!). I knew I had found my niche.

Twenty-something years later, I've collaborated with countless actors and models - from aspiring newbies, to working  actors, and celebrities -  as well expanded my work to include professionals, businesses and a variety of others  who seek headshots, portraiture and lifestyle images  in what I consider to be my clean, less-is-more, authentic style.

I rely on my sense of humor and intuition to put you at ease and create a relaxed  vibe during the shoot, so you will feel comfortable expressing yourself.  My philosophy is simple: to capture moments that reveal your true essence and individuality - photographs that really look and feel like you - on a good day.

I relocated  from the Hollywood Hills  to the  Berkeley Hills in 2009  to be with my now husband and stepdaughter, and currently offer sessions in and around my inviting natural  light-filled West Berkeley studio in the renovated, historic Berkeley Kitchens Building. I am also  available to shoot on location in the San Francisco Bay Area, and  travel to Los Angeles and New York  for shoots upon request. In my free time, I enjoy oil painting, cooking, vinyasa yoga, my silly yellow lab, and am an avid food and wine enthusiast. In August of 2020 I launched a new blog called KIRSTY’S TABLE where I marry my love of food, photography, art and inspiration - check it out!

Cheers,

Kirsten
